GigaGigs beefs up Malaysia operations with the hire of Khoo Kar Khoon

GigaGigs, a joint venture mobile technology startup has appointed Khoo Kar Khoon as chairman.

Khoo who chairs GigaGigs’ management team was also recently appointed as the non-executive director of publishing conglomerate, Media Chinese International Ltd (MCIL). A former communications director of Nestle, Khoo is a veteran and industry heavyweight in the Malaysian marketing and advertising scene. He co-founded Zenith Media in 1995.

Joining Khoo in the team is Charles Pei, the chief executive officer of WeiChaiShi China as well as technology partner of GigaGigs. Before co-founding WeiChiaShi China, Pei served as the chief technology officer at Scientific Games China and spent 12 years with Oracle in the United States and China.

Leading GigaGigs’ commercial operations in the SEA region is the managing director, Kow Kuan Hua. He was formerly the managing director of Nielsen Malaysia and general manager of Kantar Lightspeed GMI Greater China. Another key member is its commercial director, Shannon Liew. She was the former regional director of Dunnhumby and Nielsen Malaysia. Steven Chiew who started an e-commerce business in 2015, joins GigaGigs to lead the growth and reward program for its members.

GigaGigs’mobile platform allows marketers to “pull” real time information on what’s happening in the market place by crowdsourcing shoppers from all over Malaysia – Capturing The Real World.

Harnessing the power of sharing economy and leading edge mobile technology, GigaGigs hopes to innovate a new way of working for Malaysians to earn extra income at their convenience by participating in micro-jobs offered by GigaGigs’ clients, mainly through their mobile phone platform.

The micro-tasks assigned to the GigaGigs’ members vary from taking photos while shopping or traveling, providing feedback on marketing campaigns, trying new products or samples or just simply by forwarding a promotional campaign to their friends.

GigaGigs is a joint venture with the crowd tasking B2C platform mobile crowdsourcing technology company in China, WeiChaiShi. WeiChaiShi has 3.5 million registered members in China, covering more than 500 cities countrywide. The pioneer of crowdsourcing in China has been working with over 100+ clients, completing in excess of 7.5 million micro tasks, all via the mobile application called weichaishi.
